Common Name: Native storksbill

Pelargonium australe is a hardy, low-growing perennial herb or subshrub native to coastal and inland regions across Australia. It thrives in temperate to semi-arid climates and typically grows to a height of 30–50 cm with a spread of up to 1 meter. This adaptable plant prefers well-drained soils, including sandy, loamy, and rocky types, often found in grasslands, dunes, and open woodlands. Its soft, lobed green foliage forms a dense mound, and it produces clusters of pale pink to mauve flowers with darker markings, blooming from spring to autumn, attracting pollinators and adding a splash of colour to gardens.
