Grevillea Poorinda Royal Mantle
Common name: Grevillea
This Grevillea cultivar, known as Poorinda Royal Mantle, is an exceptional ground cover with dense, prostrate growth and striking toothed leaves.
Its new growth is a coppery red shade, and it produces vibrant red flowers resembling toothbrushes in winter through late spring, with sporadic bloom the rest of the year.
It can grow up to 6 metres, making it ideal for banks, large landscaping areas, and as a weeping standard when grafted.
It is drought tolerant and can withstand frost up to -8 degrees Celsius.
It is suitable for growth in most areas of Australia, except for the tropics.
To promote healthy growth, feed with a quality native fertilizer in spring and summer, and water it in well to prevent leaf burn.
As a member of the Proteaceae family, this plant is highly versatile and suitable for various uses, such as erosion control.
It is important to note that some individuals may experience skin irritation when handling grevilleas.
