Acacia acinacea, or Gold Dust Wattle, is a fast-growing, native shrub that reaches 2m by 2m.

Its weeping branches are covered in bright yellow pom-pom like flowers in spring, followed by attractive spiralled seed pods.

The shrub is suitable for hedging or screening, it can also be grown in large pots.

Keep in mind that the seeds of many native plants may take longer to germinate under less-than-ideal conditions. For best results, follow pre-treatment and sowing instructions, and be patient.

The seeds require 3mm of sowing depth and can take 14-40 days to germinate at 22-27°C.

Gold dust wattle thrives in full or part sun and well-drained soil.

Prior to sowing, it is recommended to soak the seeds in just-boiled water overnight or use
