Acacia oswaldii
Common name: Umbrella Wattle, boree, umbrella bush, whyacka, middia, miljee, nelia and curly yarran
3-7m high x 3-5m wide
This smaller acacia variety reaches a height of approximately 5m.
Its wood can be utilized as a source of fuel, while the seeds offer a valuable food source for local wildlife.
The tree's graceful, spreading branches make it an ideal sheltering spot for animals.
As the final Mallee wattle to bloom, it puts on a spectacular show in late November with its delicate, pale yellow flowers.
Additionally, the flowers provide nourishment for livestock during the early summer months.
