Austrostipa elegantissima
The Austrostipa elegantissima, also known as Feather Spear Grass, Feather Speargrass, Elegant Spear Grass, is a native plant with evergreen foliage.
This rhizomatous perennial grass can be found in Western Australia and typically grows to be 40cmx40cm.
In late spring, it produces hair-like flower heads that start off silvery white and mature to a purple/grey color.
Unlike most spear grasses, its seeds do not stick to clothing. This spreading, tufting plant prefers well-drained soil and can thrive in both full sun and semi-shade.
