Carex appressa - tall sedge
DESCRIPTION: This tall tufty sedge grass forms spreading clumps and is topped with long brown flowerspikes during the spring and summer.
The edges of the leafblades have small serrations, giving it a slightly rough texture.
ORIGIN: Native to several regions in Australia, including southern QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, and the southern coast of WA.
USES: Ideal for erosion control, creek banks, seasonally flooded areas, coastal gardens, revegetation, water management, basket making, and native and wildlife gardens.
PLANTING: This plant thrives in full sun to part shade and is frost tolerant once established.
It prefers a moist soil and can tolerate waterlogging.
MAINTENANCE: Low maintenance and only requires minimal care once established. Fertilize with a slow release native fertilizer once a year and trim foliage in late winter for a refreshed appearance. HEIGHT & WIDTH: 50cm x 50cm
