Adenanthos sericeus

  • $6.95
Taxes incluses. Frais de port calculés à la caisse.

Common name: Wooly bush

1.5-3m high x 1-3m wide

Upright plant with silky silvery foliage. The flowers are red and bird attracting, but insignificant.

Mostly grows as an upright, spreading shrub but occasionally takes the habit of a small tree up to 5 m tall.

It can be used in cut flower arrangements.

Despite its small, unassuming flowers, A. sericeus is highly sought-after for its vibrant foliage.

Its ability to withstand salty winds makes it a popular choice for coastal planting. In fact, it is commonly used as a substitute for Christmas trees in the Albany region due to its unique, silky appearance.

This plant thrives in well-drained soil, but does not fare well in humid climates. Due to its lack of a lignotuber, it can only withstand light pruning.

The plant's silver foliage is favored in the cut-flower industry for its exceptionally long vase life, lasting up to 30 days regardless of treatment or season.

Good for coastal sites and withstands salt winds.
