Banksia ornata is a luxurious and rounded shrub, reaching up to 3 metres high.
Its unique cylindrical flower spikes, measuring 50-140 mm long by 60-120 mm wide, start off in a vibrant yellow or greenish yellow, and gradually transform into a striking bronze hue.
As a known favorite of honey-eating birds, this species attracts a sense of sophistication to any garden.
Its blooming period takes place during the winter and spring seasons, making it the perfect addition to sandy, well drained soils that receive ample amounts of sunlight or partial shade.
This cultivar also boasts moderate frost hardiness, adding to its exclusivity.
