The Tall Kangaroo Paw, scientifically known as Anigozanthos flavidus, is a highly dependable and long-lasting species of Western Australian plant.

Its dark green leathery leaves have a strong resistance to leaf blackening, also known as "ink spot," making it superior to other types of kangaroo paws.

This particular variety, with red flowers as seen in the above photos, has been known to have consistent and true breeding flower colors.

Its ability to attract birds and its versatility as a key feature in garden beds make it a valued addition to any garden.

To maintain its appearance, it is recommended to remove dead flower stems and foliage once the flowers start to lose their color.

After a few years, the plant will reach a diameter of 30 to 50cm, making the clean-up process quick and easy by using shears or a whippersnipper to chop the entire plant back to ground level.

The Tall Kangaroo Paw thrives in a variety of soil types.
