Dodonaea boroniifolia
Common Name: Fern-leaf hop bush hop bush
This stunning Dodonaea boroniifolia boasts a pinnate foliage with leaves up to 40 mm in length, featuring a slightly sticky touch and toothed apex.
The plant, found in open forests, woodlands, and heath from central Queensland to western Victoria, offers a visually insignificant flower, followed by pink to deep red 4-winged fruits upon maturity.
Part of the 69 species and 60 endemic to Australia, this shrub is dioecious, although bisexual plants are also known.
Its popularity in cultivation is credited to its beautiful foliage and colorful fruits, making it a must-have for any luxury garden.
To keep it in its full glory, prune during fruiting for indoor decoration and make sure to plant it in a well-drained spot with plenty of sun or dappled shade, as it can withstand moderate frosts.
