Common name: Curly mallee, Arkaroola mallee, or Silver mallee

Eucalyptus gillii is a magnificent mallee or small tree that is native to the vast Australian outback.

Its sleek bark, ranging from smooth white to grey, adds a touch of sophistication to any landscape, with the occasional flaky bark near the base providing a contrast of rugged beauty.

From July to November, the pale yellow flowers bloom, adding a delicate touch of elegance to the already remarkable mallee.

Most commonly found in the northern Flinders Ranges, between Arkaroola and Nepabunna, this exquisite tree also graces the Barrier Ranges north of Broken Hill in New South Wales.

Its preferred habitat is in open mallee, nestled in gullies and undulating hills, often standing tall and proud in pure stands.
