Myoporum floribundum
Common name: Weeping myoporum
This large shrub boasts attractive weeping leaves on long curved branches. While it is visually appealing year-round, it truly stands out in mid spring to early summer when the branches are adorned with an abundance of small white flowers, resembling a snowy landscape. It is native to Victoria and southern NSW.
Best grown under partial shade, full sun exposure may cause some legginess, but it thrives when protected by taller plants (commonly found in sheltered gullies).
This plant grows to a height and width of 3 metres and the ability to adapt to various soil types, including dry to moist well drained soil, as it thrives with proper drainage.
Its flowering stage attracts a diverse array of native insects, making it a desirable plant for creating a natural habitat.
The weeping myoporum thrives in a cool environment, and is suitable for a low maintenance garden.
