There was a time when we used to spend time with our loved ones bodies after they died. When we were not terrified of death, when we knew that a dead body would not hurt us...

The result of war and people wanting to see their dead family members body before burial was the inception of the industry of “embalming”.

Along with that came the fear that a dead body could hurt you if it wasn’t “treated”. Which isn’t the case for short periods.... a dead body doesn’t decompose straight away, and so much of our ability to be with death comes from physically being with the ones who have died.

So much of what we have forgotten in this world came from people wanting to sell, use and exploit, in accordance with a capitalistic world in which making a buck has been valued above and beyond our humanity.

When will we actually look at this issue? And see consumerism for what it is? Life’s biggest distraction, that allows us civilians to be manipulated and dulled at the hands of the empires that rules us into absolute submission.

Let go of the stuff, get connected to what YOU are made of.

We are incredible, when we have the courage to stay with our bodies, our practices, our processes... even after death. There is so much to being alive that is disguised under a ruse of “success”. Time to pull back the curtains...
