Templetonia Retusa, also known as Cockie's Tongues, is a compact to moderate-sized shrub native to Australia.

It has a round but upright growth habit with blue-green, leathery foliage measuring about 30mm in length and 20mm in width.

The plant produces showy pea-like flowers, around 30mm long, in shades of red, white, pink, and yellow from winter to spring, attracting honey-eating birds and insects.

It is a popular choice for cultivation due to its adaptability to various conditions and can be propagated from seed or cuttings.

The species is not known to be invasive and belongs to a small genus of eight species found only in Australia.

The name 'retusa' is derived from the Latin word meaning dull or blunt, referring to the shape of the leaves with their notched tips. This species was named after John Templeton, an 18th-century botanist.
