This elegant shrub or small tree can grow up to 2-9 metres in height.

Its unique flowers bloom in clusters, reminiscent of sea urchins, from late autumn to early winter.

Starting as a creamy color, the flowers gradually darken while the styles maintain their creamy shade, creating a beautiful contrast.

The plant produces large woody pods. Best suited for a well-drained, acidic soil and a sunny location, this plant doesn't do well in high humidity as it can lead to root rot.
