Common name: emu bush

This native shrub has a tall and bushy appearance, featuring small slender green leaves and beautiful pale purple tubular flowers with freckles inside.

It is a great addition to any native, wildlife, or winter garden, and can also be used as a feature shrub.

The plant is fire retardant and can tolerate light frost and drought once established, but prefers sun and low humidity.

However, it can also survive in humid conditions and occasional seasonal flooding.

When planting, choose well-drained alkaline to neutral soil and avoid areas near sewer pipes.

To promote new flowering stems, prune after the summer season and apply a slow-release fertilizer specially designed for native plants.

This shrub typically reaches heights of 1.5 - 2 meters and has a width of 1.5 - 2 meters.
