This Mallee or tree can reach a height of up to 12m.
Its bark is rough below and smooth above, sometimes with an orange hue.
The branchlets may or may not have oil glands in the pith.
When crushed, the leaves emit a pleasant aroma and are arranged alternately on the stem, measuring 5-13cm in length and 6-25mm in width.
They are flat, glossy green, hairless, and have either entirely or somewhat scalloped edges.
The flowers, which have no petals, are white and grow in clusters of 3-7 at the bases of the leaves.
