Eucalyptus torquata, commonly known as Coral Gum, is a compact tree that reaches a height of 12 metres and boasts a dense, rounded canopy.

This species is both frost and drought tolerant, making it well-suited for poor soil conditions.

Its vibrant pink to red flowers bloom throughout Spring and Summer, and with the right growing conditions, it will continue to produce flowers throughout the year.

Eucalyptus seeds are highly effective at germinating and are considered one of the easiest native plants to grow from seed.

The size of the seeds varies by species, ranging from very small to several millimeters in length.

When planting, it's important to follow specific guidelines: sow smaller seeds on the surface of a porous mixture without burying them, whereas larger seeds should be lightly covered to the width of the seed.

For optimal growth, spring or autumn are the best seasons to sow in temperate climates, avoiding the harsher months of the year.

To promote germination, maintain a warm and moist environment around 18-22°C, by placing the seeds in a warm, shaded area.

Remember to keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged. Germination time can vary from 10 to 28 days depending on the conditions. Some native seeds may have a dormant period and require specific conditions or pre-treatment for germination.
