Australian Grass Tree - Xanthorrhoea PresIssii seeds

This plant is known as Xanthorrhoea presissii, or the Australian Grass Tree. Other common names include Palga and Balga, and it belongs to the Xanthorrhoeaceae family.

It can reach heights of 0.5-2m (7') and widths of 0.7m (2').

The distinct trunk and thin, grass-like leaves make this evergreen plant a standout in any landscape. In late winter or early spring, it produces a flower spike that can reach up to 3.5m (11') in length and is covered in small white flowers.

This slow-growing plant thrives in sandy soils yet can adapt to various types of soil.

It is native to the southwestern region of Western Australia and can be grown in other areas as well, as long as the soil and growing conditions are suitable.

To grow from seed, place 2-3 seeds in 10cm (4") pots filled with moist sandy soil and keep moist and well drained.
