Its branchlets may be covered in varying amounts of hair, or may be smooth.
They are typically grey-green or glaucous and have a slight obtuse or subacute tip.
The inflorescence is made up of 1-5 globular heads with a hairy or smooth rachis.
Each head contains 18-30 golden flowers with 5 petals.
